Skiathos map

This is a rocky beach situated in the west side of Skiathos Town, near the old harbor. It has some tourist facilities and it is surrounded by huge rocks and tall pines that provide shade. The crystalline waters create a unique turquoise color that wins over the visitor's heart from the first time. There are many cafeterias and taverns all around Plakes. The coast is narrow and visitors have to go down some stairs to get to the beach. As the place is rocky, beware of urchins that may hide there.

Megali Ammos is situated a bit outside the city in the street leading to Koukounaries. You can reach this beach on foot, by car or by bus. You can enjoy the crystal clear waters and the food in its very nice tavernas or the picturesque "ouzeri" (small tavernas serving ouzo and snacks). If you wish, you can stay in the hotels or the hospitable hostels situated there.

The long sandy beach of Ftelia is situated at a distance of 4 kilometers southwesten to the town of Skiathos. The tourist settlement around the beach, a rapidly developing resort, offers a lot of accommodation facilities.

The lovely sandy beach of Vassilias (meaning "king" in Greek) is situated at at the southern coast of the island, well protected by the strong northern winds, at a distance of some 5 kilometers southwestern to the town of Skiathos and one kilometer southern to Katsaros.

The long sandy beach of Achladies (meaning "pear trees"in Greek), is situated some 5,5 kilometers southwestern to the town of Skiathos, in front of the homonymous, rapidly developing tourist resort which is amphitheatrically arranged around the beach.

The sandy beach of Tzaneria (the name means "greengage tree" in Greek) is situated at a distance of some 7 kilometers far from the town of Skiathos at the Southwest, within a small, but pretty well protected cove.
